What does a Family Medicine Physician treat?

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Think of a Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership like a gym membership for your health. You pay a flat monthly fee and you receive member benefits such as unlimited clinic visits, unlimited telemedicine visits, greater time spent with your physician, access to your physician after regular business hours, a significant cost savings, and much more! How much is a Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership?
Dr. Vanderloo offers DPC Memberships as an affordable way to visit your doctor. We have individual memberships, family memberships, and student memberships. We also offer small business memberships for employers to provide access to quality healthcare for their employees. Visit our Services page on the main menu to see a list of our current pricing.
Do I need health insurance?
Dr. Vanderloo accepts patients with, and without, health insurance. We do not bill insurance directly, therefore the direct primary care monthly membership fee is paid out-of-pocket by the patient each month. For more information please visit our Services page.
Do you take Medicaid?
Dr. Vanderloo does not bill Medicaid; however, patients with Medicaid may pay out-of-pocket for a direct primary care membership.
Do you take Medicare?
Yes, Dr. Vanderloo does accept Medicare. Please call our office first to see if we are currently accepting new patients.
Do you offer same-day or next-day appointments? Is there a wait-time?
We do our very best to offer appointments as soon as possible, which often include same-day or next-day appointments. And, great news, we have no wait-time when you arrive because we schedule one patient at at time!
What is Telehealth or Telemedicine?
A telemedicine/telehealth visit utilizes technology, such as texting, video conferencing, and healthcare questionnaires, to provide care for minor illnesses when a patient cannot make it in to the office in person. Examples of minor illnesses may include a cold or a sore throat. To schedule this type of appointment, please click on the “Get in Touch” button on your screen.
What happens if I need to be admitted to the hospital?
If a patient needs to be admitted to the hospital, Dr. Vanderloo will follow up with your care once you are discharged from the hospital. Patients may request to have their medical records sent to Dr. Vanderloo which helps to faciliate the coordination of care.
What do I need to know before my first appointment?
Your first appointment gives you the chance to get to know Dr. Vanderloo. You may provide your medical health history and any health concerns you are wishing to discuss. You will be able to complete new patient paperwork electronically prior to your visit. On the day of your appointment, you will need to bring: photo ID, insurance card (if applicable), list of your current medications, and list of any questions you may have. Patients may wish to have their prior medical records sent via fax to Dr. Vanderloo beforehand.
