Halloween is Coming!

Halloween is almost here, and Vanderloo Family Medicine loves celebrations of all kinds! However, we understand that many people may be leary of trick-or-treating this year with the uncertainty of rising Covid case numbers. There are many ways you can still celebrate and make fun memories with your family. For example, consider a spooky movie night with popcorn and themed-snacks, or try a silly twist like Halloween game night, or even tell ghost stories under a blanket fort with a flashlight!

If you do decide to trick-or-treat this year, Dr. Vanderloo has some friendly reminders to wear a mask and socially distance at least 6 feet from individuals who are not in the same family.

Also, remember:

  • wear light-color, reflective clothing, or bring flashlights or glow-in-the dark necklaces, so you can be seen in dusk and dark.

  • please keep a watchful eye on your children as they cross busy streets.

  • wash your hands before opening and eating your treats, and sanitize several times throughout your journey from house to house.

  • check your child’s candy and discard any pieces that are open or look different than usual.

However you decide to celebrate this year, we wish you safety and good health…and remember this cute scarecrow, Dr. Covid, who says “Mask Up! 6 ft.”
